Hertfordshire businesses with fewer than 50 employees can access a year of free legal advice through funded membership to either Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce or the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) which includes including a 24/7 legal helpline, legal documents, templates and policies available online.
Hertfordshire Growth Hub have launched a business legal support initiative, partnering with Better Business for All (BBfA), to offer continued support to Hertfordshire businesses through the COVID-19 crisis, and boost their resilience.
Businesses with fewer than 50 employees can receive free legal advice through membership to either Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce or the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), dependent on their number of employees. Eligible businesses that make successful applications will receive a years’ free access to membership support which covers:
• 24/7 access to a legal advice line including HR advice, health and safety, commercial contracts and tax advice,
• Legal documents, templates and policies available online,
• And many more membership benefits.
This will be useful for business managers who have legal questions about COVID-19 and their employees, such as:
• Working safely and attending the workplace,
• Vaccinations and testing,
• Sick pay and self- isolation,
• Furlough,
• Mental Health and Wellbeing.

• Staff retention - helps employers to solve employee/employer grievances quicker and to avoid tribunals.

Please note, eligibility criteria applies, and the membership offered will be based on employee numbers. Funding is available for approximately 200 businesses on a first come first served basis.
